Atypical leiomyoma of the uterus: A case report

چکیده
Introduction: Leiomyoma of the uterus is the most common tumor of the female reproductive tract. While most leiomyomas on histology are usual myomas, sometimes rare variants may be encountered. Case Report: We report a case of an atypical uterine leiomyoma in a 49-year-old multipara, who presented with continuous bleeding per vaginum of one month duration and discuss the pathophysiology, salient clinical features and management of this rare condition. Conclusion: Atypical leiomyoma is a rare variant of uterine smooth muscle tumors, which mimics leiomyosarcomas, and may even be its precursor lesion. (This page in not part of the published article.) Leiomyoma of Scrotum: a Rare Case Report
Leiomyomas are benign tumors that originate from smooth muscle cells. Leiomyomas are well known to be the commonest neoplasm arising from the uterus but leiomyomas originating from the scrotum is a rare entity. They originate from the subcutaneous tissue or tunica dartos and can be solitary or multiple. We present a case of solitary scrotal leiomyoma in a 75 years old male who presented with a ...

Round ligament leiomyoma of uterus is rare. It can be presented as inguinal swelling mimicking the inguinal hernia or lymph node. Surgical excision is its curative treatment. Definitive diagnosis is made by histopathological examination. A 32 year old pregnant patient having round ligament leiomyoma as diagnosed histopathologically in Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Hospital in 2014 was present...
متن کاملFDG-PET/CT findings of atypical (bizarre/symplastic) uterine leiomyoma in a patient with abdominal leiomyosarcoma
Atypical (bizarre) leiomyoma is a benign uterine smooth-muscle tumor characterized by a) a significant number of cells with dense eosinophilic cytoplasm and enlarged, bizarre single/multiple hyperchromatic or multiple nuclei without tumor necrosis and b) poor mitotic activity. We report the case of an atypical (bizarre) leiomyoma revealed by focal fluoro-deoxyglucose (FDG) uptake during a PET-C...

Leiomyomatosis peritonealis disseminata (LPD) is a benign disease characterized by the presence of multiple small nodules on the omentum, parietal, and visceral peritoneum. It corresponds to leiomyoma and often resembles metastases of malignant tumors; however, with favorable prognosis. Here we describe a 46-year-old woman, diagnosed with LPD, to demonstrate the etiopathogenesis of the develope...
